Summary: The Clare Valley Water Supply Scheme was designed and proposed by SA Water. The scheme was intended to perform three principal functions including, provide a reticulated water supply to the townships of Watervale, Penwortham, Mintaro, Sevenhill, Leasingham and improved water supply to Clare, to provide irrigation water to the Clare Valley region and to augment the Swan Reach – Paskeville pipeline system to increase supplies for the Barossa Valley, Mid North and Yorke Peninsula. Financial and economic evaluations were undertaken to identify the value of the Clare Valley Water Supply Scheme to SA Water and the state economy.
