EconSearch Completed Project

Project: Water Planning Economic Analysis Framework Guidelines (2016).

Client: South Australian Murray-Darling Basin NRM Board

Summary: The SA Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources engaged EconSearch to develop a framework for cost benefit and economic impact analysis of water planning policy decisions in the Eastern Mount Lofty Ranges Prescribed Water Resources areas and, more broadly, the South Australian Murray-Darling Basin Natural Resources Management region to provide better understanding of the impacts of future water planning decisions. This study focussed on two major types of water planning policy, namely (i) reductions to water allocations; and (ii) restriction in the timing of access to the taking of water allocations.
