Summary: This assessment was requested by the CRC for Viticulture (CRCV) Board in view of the completion of the principal CRCV activities at the end of the 1998/99 financial year and to assist preparation of a new CRCV bid. The main aim of this report was to consider how effective the CRCV had been in meeting the objectives of the Commonwealth’s CRCs Program and to provide guidance in the establishment of the new CRCV. The approach was to first to assess the nature of the CRC, including its objectives and the environment in which it had been operating and secondly to assess the extent to which the objectives of the Commonwealth’s CRC program had been achieved. This involved a survey of CRCV stakeholders and drew on information generated in the economic evaluations of CRCV projects conducted independently of this study.
