Project: Cost Benefit Analysis of a GWRDC Project Cluster: Vine Health - Powdery Mildew (2010)

Client: Grape and Wine Research and Development Corporation (GWRDC)

Summary: A cost-benefit analysis of the randomly selected ‘vine health- powdery mildew’ project cluster. This cluster was comprised of 5 GWRDC funded projects, namely:

  • CRV 99/14a and CRV 99/14aN - Isolation of a major resistance gene to powdery mildew
  • CRV 02/07 and CRV 02/07N - Mechanism of powdery mildew infection in grapevines
  • DNR 02/06 - Improved management of grapevine powdery mildew
  • DPI 06/03 - Powdery mildew management in vineyards - the next phase
  • UA 03/03 - Sustainable control of powdery and downy mildew diseases of grapevine and impacts of control on wine quality and vineyard health

The results of the analysis of the randomly selected project clusters will be used by the Council of Rural Research and Development Corporation Chairs in their broader evaluation of the impact of research and development funded by Rural Research and Development Corporations in Australia.
