Project: Cost Benefit Analysis of a GWRDC Project Cluster: Vine Health - Other Disease (2010)
Client: Grape and Wine Research and Development Corporation (GWRDC)
Summary: A cost-benefit analysis of the randomly selected ‘vine health- other disease’ project cluster. This cluster was comprised of 5 GWRDC funded projects, namely:
- DNR 02/04 - Better disease control by using adjuvants
- DNR 02/05 - Control of downy mildew of grapevines by boosting their natural defence system
- DNR 03/01 - Biological control of grapevine scales
- UWA 00/1 - Behaviour of infective propagules of Plasmopara viticola (causal agent of downy mildew on grapevines) under Western Australian conditions
- NT 02/01 - Characterisation of the Grapevine Leaf Rust fungus and identification of resistant grape cultivars (Project 1A) Grapevine Leaf Rust – assessment of cultivars for resistance or immunity and fungicides useful for control (Project 1B) Grapevine Leaf Rust – molecular characterisation, host range and biological studies (Project 1C)
The results of the analysis of the randomly selected project clusters will be used by the Council of Rural Research and Development Corporation Chairs in their broader evaluation of the impact of research and development funded by Rural Research and Development Corporations in Australia.
