Project: Cost Benefit Analysis of a GWRDC Project Cluster: Vine Physiology - Water (2009)
Client: Grape and Wine Research and Development Corporation (GWRDC)
Summary: A cost-benefit analysis of the randomly selected ‘vine physiology - water’ project cluster. This cluster was comprised of 4 GWRDC funded projects, namely:
- SAR 02/07 - Improving the quality of Cabernet Sauvignon grown in warm and hot regions;
- CRV 02/01 - A novel plant-based sensor to monitor vine water stress;
- CRV 01/05 - Hormonal control of water use and berry ripening in grapevines; and
- CRV 03/07S - Influence of irrigation and fertiliser management on movement of water and nutrient within and below the rootzone of vines for sustainable grape production.
The results of the analysis of the randomly selected project clusters will be used by the Council of Rural Research and Development Corporation Chairs in their broader evaluation of the impact of research and development funded by Rural Research and Development Corporations in Australia.
