Summary: The Northern Australia Land and Water Taskforce (NALWT) was convened by Federal Government to find new opportunities for economic development in northern Australia based on water availability and sustainability. EconSearch contributed to the Northern Australia Land and Water Science Review 2009, a report commissioned by the Taskforce and coordinated by CSIRO in collaboration with over 80 of Australia’s leading scientists. EconSearch contributed to Chapter 09 - Commercial Fishing and Aquaculture in Northern Australia but also chapters on irrigated agriculture (Chapter 10) and water-based tourism and recreation (Chapter 11).
