EconSearch Completed Project
Project: Preliminary Economic Indicators for the Commercial Fisheries of South Australia (2009)
Client: PIRSA Fisheries
Summary: To meet PIRSA’s legislative requirements under the Fisheries Act 2007, EconSearch has developed annual economic indicators to track the performance of the nine commercial fisheries in South Australia. Preliminary economic indicator reports are completed each year prior to the release of the final reports. For each fishery, the preliminary indicators reported include the gross value of production and regional economic impacts. The annual series of preliminary economic indicators has been prepared for the following fisheries:
- Abalone;
- Northern Zone Rock Lobster;
- Southern Zone Rock Lobster;
- Spencer Gulf and West Coast Prawns;
- Gulf St Vincent Prawns;
- Marine Scalefish;
- Blue Crab;
- Lakes and Coorong; and
- Sardines.
