Summary: This paper, presented to the 6th Australian Rock Lobster Congress, Adelaide, 15 September 2009, reports on the economic performance of rock lobster fisheries with examples of the South Australian Rock Lobster Fisheries from 1997/98 to 2007/08 and the implications of management changes for the West Australian Rock Lobster Fishery. The paper reported on:
- objectives of fisheries management in South Australia;
- performance against objectives;
- factors that influence the economic performance of rock lobster fisheries;
- economic trends in SA Rock Lobster Fisheries; and
- modelling economic performance, an example from WA.
