Summary: Heather Bailey (EconSearch) and Ben Heard (ThinkClimate Consulting) presented a paper entitled Developing the Carbon Neutral Investment Model for Local Government to the 35th annual conference of the Australian and New Zealand Regional Science Association International held in Canberra in December 2011. This paper presented the work that EconSearch and ThinkClimate Consulting completed for the City of Onkaparinga in 2010 detailing how the council could meet its organisational target of carbon neutrality by 2013. The paper is part of the refereed proceedings of the conference.

Ecoscore Launch

3 February 2012: Carbon Business and EconSearch have collaborated to launch Ecoscore, a tool to quantify hidden Scope 3 emissions using economic modelling. Ecoscore was developed to meet new global Greenhouse Gas Protocol standards and traces environmental impact as far back as 11 tiers in the supply chain. Calculating Scope 3 emissions has traditionally been a complex, time-consuming and costly process. Ecoscore – one of only a handful of similar products in the world – simplifies the process.
