Summary: This project involved the preparation of a set of course notes for a postgraduate course in Community Economic Analysis. The course notes provided students with tools to better understand the measurement of local and regional economies, through the use of various quantitative and analytical methods.
Topics covered included collection of basic data on the local economy, demographic data, key economic and social indicators, regional accounts, input-output tables, employment multipliers, labour market analysis, cost benefit analysis, economic impact analysis and the use of location quotients.
