Project:  Economic Impact of the Poultry Meat Industry in South Australia (2008)

Client: PIRSA Livestock Industries

Summary:  In order to provide a baseline for industry analysis estimates were provided for the following:

  • the current direct and indirect economic impact of the poultry meat industry value chain on the SA economy;
  • the direct and indirect economic impact of the poultry meat industry value chain on the SA economy in 2015, based on the targets outlined in Poultry Meat in South Australia – Strategic Directions 2005-2015 (SA Chicken Meat Council 2007); and
  • the direct and indirect economic impact of a representative farm and associated value chain on the SA economy.
