Project: Feasibility Assessment - Understanding Triggers for On-Farm Investment in Works and Potential Uptake of Water Use Efficiency Measures for South Australian TLM Water Recovery (2007)

Client: Department of Water, Land and Biodiversity Conservation

Collaborator: Scholefield Robinson Horticultural Services

Summary: This project involved an investigation of ways to encourage SA River Murray irrigators to embark on irrigation improvements that result in water savings that could be transferred to the Living Murray Water Recovery Program for environmental flow in the Murray River. Citrus with overhead irrigation, vines with furrow irrigation and vines with overhead irrigation are examples of the water saving investments that were analysed in a representative whole farm budget context.
